23/03/2012 - CereProc announces partnership to create the most realistic movie process simulation
Fanchinima AB, KTH Centre for Speech Technology and leading text to speech (TTS) company CereProc Ltd announce their partnership to create the most realistic movie process simulation using a combination of technologies from the three organisations.
CereProc, the KTH Centre for Speech Technology and Fanchinima will conduct joint research into how to best control and deliver emotional content in synthetic voices, how to select these emotions from a manuscript, and how to animate movements and facial expressions to be in tune with the emotional content expressed by the voice.
Fanchinima advanced movie game software allows players with ease and if required guidance, to create their own movies, step by step, following a simulated movie production process based on universal standards in the industry. First, a manuscript is created, then avatar actors are casted to play the roles, a location set is selected. The player/director then selects camera placement and the required lighting. Based on these parameters Fanchinima auto-animates the movie, which is then cut and sound edited with easy to use intuitive editors.
Fanchinima will utilise CereProc’s CereVoice text-to-speech engine to give the avatars their voice.
At the KTH Centre for Speech Technology, research on auto-generated character motion including lip synch and non-verbal behaviours, will be implemented and tested in the Fanchinima product.
